Volunteer Opportunities
Great Kids Minds is looking for volunteers for their STEM summer camp.
Are you struggling to find volunteer opportunities? There are always opportunities through the City of Richmond Hill. Students must create an online profile, attend a volunteer orientation, complete accessible customer service training and then you are ready to access their date bank of volunteer opportunities.
YRDSB Volunteer Form
Students must use the new form. The Guidance office has a QR link to the digital form. Please don’t go to the main office, library or Guidance to have them print the form. All volunteer forms must be scanned and sent to your counsellor digitally. Do not send a picture. Guidance will sign off on the pre-approval once the form is completed and sent in. To ensure that your location will be counted for hours, please check with your Guidance counsellor first to see if it will be approved.
YRDSB Summer School
Registration for summer school opened April 15th. There are various ways to take a course in person and online. Here is the link to ALL info on summer school. Students use myBlueprint to register for a summer school course when it opens on April 15th. See attached how to register.
For those students that were approved for credit recovery (reinforcement) in summer school, please register on My Blueprint. If you need support, make a guidance appointment with your counsellor.
Grad BBQ
Next Friday is the long-awaited Graduation Barbeque! Any grade 12 or graduating student is free to come during their lunch for the festivities. Whether or not you filled out the interest form, there will be games, sports, yearbook signing and more. Additionally, if you filled out the interest form, you can come to collect a free burger and t-shirt.
Grad gowns and tickets will be handed out at the Grad BBQ on June 13th. If you are unable to pick up your items that day, you can pick them up in Guidance starting Monday June 16th. If not, you can send another student to pick up your items but you must send an email to Keri.Jarrett@yrdsb.ca prior to the 13th. Thank you.
