Aquatics Leadership Programs for Fall & Winter 2025-26

Students interested in getting swimming credits starting in the Fall. The Aquatics Leadership Program is now open for registration. See the attachments for details.

YRDSB Summer School & Fall International Languages

Fall International Languages courses are open to register on MyBlueprint. Full-Year Remote Language Courses (Grades 9–12). Courses are offered once a week for 3.7 hours, either Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. The program runs for 30 sessions, typically from September to June. Instruction is delivered live and in real time via Google Classroom, with a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning. All program updates: YRDSB ILIL Program Webpage, Secondary Programs.

Summer School

Registration for summer school opened April 15th. There are various ways to take a course in person and online. Here is the link to ALL info on summer school. Students use myBlueprint to register.

For those students that were approved for credit recovery (reinforcement) in summer school, please register on My Blueprint.  If you need support, make a guidance appointment with your counsellor. 

 

STEM Program

Applications are now open for hEr Volutions STEMing UP Summer Program an opportunity for BIPOC girls and gender diverse youth aged 13 – 17 in Ontario. This program is designed to support underserved students in developing real-world STEM skills, building confidence, and exploring future pathways in science, technology, engineering, and math. Students can apply here

 

Outward Bound Canada Program

A fully funded opportunity for youth interested in careers in the outdoors, forestry, or the green jobs sector. Outward Bound Canada's Forest Pathways Academy is part of an Employment Ontario initiative designed to equip youth with the certifications, experience, and connections needed to pursue meaningful work in Ontario’s environmental and outdoor sectors. This program offers a powerful combination of hands-on training, adventure-based learning, and direct mentorship from professionals working in the field. Program Dates: July 1–25, 2025 (Ages 16–18)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Ontario resident and eligible to work in Canada
  • At least 16 years old at the time of application
  • Interested in exploring a career in the forests or green jobs sector

 

Volunteer Opportunities

A Volleyball Summer Camp is looking for volunteers. 

The Youth Empowerment Leadership Program (YELP), hosted by the Mon Sheong Youth Group. This free 8-month program is ideal for youth who are eager to grow as leaders while giving back to the community. It is open to students aged 16–30, and all applicants will be invited to an interview as part of the selection process. YELP offers a well-rounded experience that supports personal and professional development. Participants will:

·       Gain hands-on leadership experience by organizing community events such as our Lunar New Year Market

  • Receive mentorship and leadership training from experienced facilitators
  • Earn volunteer hours for community service
  • Receive a certificate of completion for school or job applications

Program Duration: July 2025 – March 2026 Location: Most sessions are held on Saturdays in Scarborough Community & Volunteer Services Centre (2020 McNicoll Avenue.) Application Deadline: June 25, 2025 

There are always opportunities through the City of Richmond Hill. Students must create an online profile, attend a volunteer orientation, complete accessible customer service training and then you are ready to access their date bank of volunteer opportunities.

YRDSB Volunteer Form

Students must use the new FORM. The Guidance office has a QR link to the digital form. Please don’t go to the main office, library or Guidance to have them print the form.  All volunteer forms must be scanned and sent to your counsellor digitally. Do not send a picture.  Guidance will sign off on the pre-approval once the form is completed and sent in. To ensure that your location will be counted for hours, please check with your Guidance counsellor first to see if it will be approved.

Grad Gowns, Tickets and Graduation

Grad gowns and tickets can be picked up in Guidance. If not, you can send another student to pick up your items but you must send an email to Keri Jarrett. The last day to pick up everything is the morning of Exam Review Day, June 25th.  Items will not be brought to the venue.

 

Graduation is on Thursday, June 26th at Universal Event Space, 6250 Hwy 7, Vaughan.  If you have any questions, please speak to Mrs. Jarrett in Guidance. All graduates must be at venue by 5:15 pm.  Doors will open at 5:15 pm for guests.  All guests must bring the tickets associated with the assigned graduate.  Guests will be given wrist bands once they enter.  If you are giving an unused ticket to another graduate, you must email Keri Jarrett before June 16th as tickets need to match the appropriate graduate. 

Extra tickets – if you paid for an extra ticket, they will be available for pick up on the morning of Exam Review Day, June 25th.  There will be no transferring of extra tickets as there is a limited quantity.  You cannot purchase one for a friend.  Remember, all tickets have been assigned to graduates and will be cross checked upon entry to the venue.  Wristband policy will be in effect for guests.

Graduation Gifts

If parents/guardians/guests are looking to purchase flowers or gifts for graduates.  People can preorder online and the flowers/gifts will be delivered to the graduation venue on June 26th.  

Private School or Other School Board Report Cards

Students who took a course at another school board please bring a hard copy of your report card to Guidance. If you took a course at a Private School, please bring an official report card in a sealed envelope from the private school to Guidance so we can add the course to your transcript. 

Request for transcripts and report cards

If needed, please request transcripts through your Guidance counsellor.  These are printed only on Friday afternoons so plan accordingly. 

We also don’t reprint report cards.  Please wait until the next report card cycle where you can print all your report cards (midterms and finals) from previous years. If you need a report card for a government related process, please contact your Guidance counsellor.  These are printed only on Friday afternoons so plan accordingly.

OSSD Diploma Pick Up

Students can pick up diplomas the third week of July. The main office will be open from Monday thru Thursday from 9am to 3pm.

IB Diploma

IB Diplomas will be available for pick up at the end of August.
